According to a source, King Kino was arrested last night in front of the club Brasserie Creole after his regular Friday night gig. Right after the party, a couple of officers pulled up and started issuing parking tickets to cars that were illegally parked in the area. Kino came out of the club and started arguing with the officer for issuing the tickets. The officers waited until he got in his car and ran a check on his plates, at that point, the Sargent was called, when he arrived on the scene, arresting officers exchanged words with him, at that point Kino’s rights were read to him and he was then placed under arrest.

There are a few “speculations” about the arrest, some say Kino claimed he’s being arrested for tickets issued to “Phantoms Productions” the store Phantoms use to own on Flatbush and Glenwood Rd in NY. The store was moved further down the block a couple of months ago. According to a source close to Kino, the store is registered under his name and his former band members who continued to run the store owed a lot of tickets for violations which they
never paid.

As many may already have learned, King Kino was detained at Brasserie Creole, in the
morning of Saturday, January 29th for an unresolved traffic violation, which he took
care of awhile back but was still not updated in the system.
King Kino would like to thank everyone for their concern about his whereabouts; especially
the ones who came and spend the day at the precinct and the court house
waiting for his release.

King Kino is currently at home resting after spending close to 10 hours in custody.
This is a county of law and order that we must all abide by them, no matter what your
status
is. King Kino is no difference when it comes to the law.

There are many rumors surrounding the reasons for his arrest. Let me make it clear, there is
nothing more than what I’ve stated in the first paragraph. The court record in this
country is a matter of public record, if any one needs further information, feel free to
contact my office at the above number or they can verify for themselves at the court
records in the district that this matter was brought to.

Once again, Kino would like to extend his gratitude to all the well wishers, and supporters
during this few uncertain hours. He’ll be waiting for everyone this Friday at his
gig at Brasserie Creole. By popular demand, Tan Tan will also be part of the line-up.
