After more than a year of not touring their native land Haiti, System Band got dispatch by promoter Ernst Barjon aka Ti Fanfan for an end of the year tour. System Band, before its brief hiatus, had already started to see a decrease in numbers of attendees at their events. Isnard Douby during a during a press conference that was given on Wednesday, December 29 in Pétion-Ville stated the band has taken steps to restrategize in an effort to revive the band’s popularity.

System Band has been facing countless issues which might have led to their decrease in popularity within the industry. One of the major issues the band’s facing is Ti Mitou’s illness preventing him from being an active member, Ernst Vincent (Ti Ness) recently moved to Florida and Michel Blaise has family problems. Douby explained they’re looking to hire new and younger musicians and entrusted the Maestro to handle that duty. “It’s at my death that System will cease to exist,” says Douby. After all, he thinks, System should not die even after he does pass. The Caramel Compas must still be served on the whole line “for all ‘tan gen tan” – or, in all likelihood, for an indefinite period. It is certainly not for nothing that the group has decided to switch up by calling on these young people not exceeding in their twenties to replace those who abandoned the ship on shore.

After the experiment with Delly François, who still entertaining his dream of becoming a legislator in his native province, Douby has had to appeal to a young and former singer of Les Invincibles de Jacmel and Gero Star, Joël Jean, to help him to continue to pass the “current” or in other words the “energy” of System. Currently, in this freshly reconstituted musical formation, we want to signal the integration of Delva, the new bassist, keyboardist Kenny Legagneur, a regular for System, from Réginald Benjamin’s cousin to the second guitar, and Jean Maurice (Ti Jean Marassa) on the drums.

For this new CD “Cumberlan’n” which took us 6 months to record, is for all musical tastes.
Currently, System Band is on tour in Haiti and their first performance is fixed for Thursday, December 30th.
