Before I continue, let it be known, it’s a slow news week, therefore, i’m willing to entertain this mess. And also let me highlight this to the ladies of the Haitian music industry; please hold your heads up high and give yourselves a few pats on the back for what you are about to read is an example of why when God keeps closing certain doors in front of you; it simply means what’s behind it is not for you. You would never hear a woman mentioned in a story like the one below. Last week, Friday, there was a press conference held at Brassiere Creole in Queens, NY. This press conference was held to provide the three accused bootleggers an opportunity to respond to the allegations that they were bootlegging DVDs and CDS out of Florida and selling them here in New York for profit.
According to Yvon of Tele Diaspo of Boston, Doff Chancy was caught at Delta Airways transporting 100 copies of the movie VIP, 85 copies of Tolalito, 100 copies of Plezi Detay and 6 Twoubadou Vol.1. The package was supposed to be sent by Cargo but due to the 9-11 incident in New York, state law requires any cargo coming into the City to have a legitimate sender and receiver’s address. Doff Chancy was caught with the package, which looked like it was originally supposed to go through Cargo, said the package was not his and he was just delivering it. He named Gary Gazo and Geronimo. Yvon automatically called Geronimo to tell them he caught Doff at the airport with his products and he’s about to call the police and asked him if he had anything to do with it? Geronimo denied any involvement. Yvon, not satisfied with Geronimo’s vague response took it to the media.
Yvon saw the package with Geronimo’s name and record store address, nonetheless, Geronimo exclaimed the address was not his and his real name is Geroboram Raphael; therefore, the package doesn’t belong to him. The sender’s name was Gary Garzo.
During the press conference, Geronimo again denied any involvement and threatened to get his lawyer if anybody accuses him of being a bootlegger. Yvon in return told him if he can prove his innocence then he’ll let it go. Geronimo said any further questions should be directed to his lawyers.
Another bombshell unleashed when Yvon played a voice message left on his voicemail by Geronimo after he went to the media. The Message Geronimo left was edited due to excessive use of profanity;
Message #1
Yvon, It’s Geronimo. I heard you told Sakapfet.com some BS about me. You better go and retract your statement because I don’t want my name in that “salopri” and you better return my calls.
Message #2
It’s me, Geronimo. You think you got screwed by Doff and Gary, you better worry about me because I’ll put my finger so far down your #$#@@. You’re trying to destroy my business; I’ll make you regret it till the day you die. I’m waiting for the day you fall. You’re a coward and I’m going to make you pay.
During the press conference, Geronimo denied all allegations and remained vague as to his involvement in the whole situation. It’s unclear whether or not Yvon of Tele Diaspora will take legal action at this time.
