King Kino, celebrated his birthday with his close friends and fans at a private gathering that took place at “Mixed Notes Café” last in Elmont Long Island. About 175 people took part for that special occasion for the King; among them: Shoubou of Tabou Combo, Kenny of Zenglen, Carlito Coupe, Sexy Frantzy, Bono, Stanley Barbot of WLIB/WBLS and Papa Jube of SOBS, who all joined Kino on stage to wish him Happy Birthday. This was a very private affair where admission was only by invitation.

The King’s birthday is actually the 23 of December, but he is expecting a similar celebration when he travels to Haiti next weekend. His bandmates put on a special performance for him, where the attendees had a sneak preview of one of the songs on the upcoming album entitled: “Re-Education”.

Kenny, the new lead singer of Zenglen, dropped by after Zenglen had finished performing at a private party. He joined Kino on stage, and thanking him by saying: “ Kino is a living legend, who have paved the way for many of our current singers, including myself, Kino was the first person who ever handed me a mic to sing in front of a crowd, and for that, I thank you, Kino,”.

It was a very mixed and mature crowd, who seemed to have enjoyed every tune that the band played. The night ended with no glitches.
